Just to make sure that no one thinks this blog is dead. I’m in the middle of a hectic work schedule right now. Not that I don’t have stories to share, but I just don’t have time to type it here.
Don’t worry, I’ll be back some time soon.
Cheers!

Well, I guess all phones with web browser can do this. I haven’t found any Blackberry application for WordPress, but the Internet browser has been very, very impressive. Other than iPhone, I don’t think there is any other phone that can beat Blackberry’s browsing experience. Plus, the brilliant QWERTY does help a lot when blogging.
And yeap, my blog looks good too on the display. Sharp and crisp.
Oh, I just love my Blackberry. FYI, this post is from Blackberry. See how many typos I have. None eh? Because the auto-correct works like charm.
It was a huge passion of mine, many years ago. Somehow, at a point I couldn’t recall, I stopped. For an unknown reason.
It’s not a new hobby. It’s just a refreshment of a long time interest. Plus, a few colleagues share this same interest, which somehow encourages me to go to that ‘haunted’ shop and buy that hot rod, as well as the exquisite machine.
And the first run was a test of patience. Three solid hours, yet I managed to catch a below-par 200g-300g barramundi (well, honestly, there was a man there said that the fishes in that particular pond are small compared to other ponds). That statement supposed to make me feel better, but it didn’t. Size does not matter. Quantity is the only thing that will make me happy, if the number increases.
Abu Garcia Stealth ST4000. Sexy, isn’t it?
The second run was worse. Not even a touch of a fish. 15km away from the first, this pond promises better outcome. Arriving late in the evening, the first thing I saw when I got out of the car was a fat boy with funny hat, running clumsily to the coffee stall nearby, holding a huge barramundi, probably more than 2kg.
Yet, another three solid hours, empty handed. Oh boy.
“Ikan oh ikan, manala ko…Aku tuba gak kolam ni karang…” this was probably what in his mind.
Fishing isn’t about skills. Or secret tips. It’s all about patience. At least, that’s what I believe.
Third run, anyone?
PS: Driving 150 golf balls is cheaper than a 3-hour pond-fishing.
Few weeks back, I’ve got a call from my manager. A phone call I wouldn’t expect, at least for the first few years in this company. Yes, I have a mission, solely set for my career. But I didn’t expect to get the opening only after 8 months here.
The phone call, in loud speaker, was indeed an unofficial interview. My General Manager and Director were on the line too. Cuak, beb!
And last week, my CEO came personally for an official interview. Couldn’t really say no to this offer, as I could see that he’s keen to make sure that I accept this new position.
I’ve been thinking about this over and over again. I know that once I step into management, I will slowly lose the technical skills I have. I enjoy myself doing technical stuffs, hands-on work, and getting new advance knowledge in engineering field everyday. This management position will surely pull me away from all these.
I was torn between what I love doing and what I want to be doing. So yes, life is all about choices, darling. It’s a matter of how to choose.
Ayoyo!
What on earth is this? Haa, you’ll find out soon, when the project is complete. These are study sketches of finding a “sweet” mechanism for my current project (and a colleague, too).
