• ART TEXT 2

BML Image 3I was browsing cluelessly in Apple, looking for something I can download and play or whatever. I came across an application which I find pretty interesting, the Art Text 2. For those Photoshop users, average level and above, you can stop reading here, as you won’t be needing this.

The application provides a fun text editing for your headers. The good thing is, it’s not just text, you can even create or edit buttons, logos, shapes and more, depends on how creative you are. Then you can use your designs to beautify your desktop looks, presentation, weblog or even your website. Furthermore, it is much more lightweight compared to the heavy duty Photoshop, so you should expect a very fast response time. Of course, as it is lightweight, the features will never  be comparable to Photoshop. It’s for fun, remember? You can use the result in iWork, iWeb, Microsoft Office and various more test edit and web design programs.

I did a few myself, and found out that you can actually get a firm grip of this application within 15 minutes (not like Photoshop or Pixelmator, it seems like forever before you can actually discuss about creating a banner design flawlessly with your friends).

    BML

Unfortunately, it is only available for Mac (I can’t find any Windows version) and it will cost you US$39.95 to purchase the license. You can still use the free demo version throughout the years, but your design will have a silhouette background of the word ‘Trial’. Not too obvious though, but enough to distract you. This is where Pixelmator or Photoshop can help you out, but surely if you are proficient with these two, you won’t be needing Art Text anymore.

To conclude this, I would rather say the Art Text 2 is a good and fun application to have, but won’t be a must. So for the Windows users, don’t worry. It won’t feel that bad not to have it.

PS: I’m still way off from average in Adobe Photoshop, which is why I find this Art Text very interesting. Anyone willing to be my mentor in Photoshop?

  • EPISODE 3 – NEW HOME

I know it has been long since the last time i wrote an article for my own blog here. I’ve been busy, that’s all I can come with if you ask me why. By the way, as promised, this is the update for my house.

Honestly, I love my house. And I think I love it more when I’m here, 250km away from shore. Geesh~

Oh boy! Now I realized that I have so few pictures of my completed house. I have a lot of pictures on all the process of upgrading and equipping my house. Geesh, I’ll update again later on.

  • EPISODE 2 – NEW HOME

Now the grills are up, which means I can start installing all the lamps, fans, airconds etc. The pokok liar outside the house had been cleared, except for the grass. My mother said “Racun je…” and that is exactly what am I going to do. Already bought a bottle of 1 liter herbicide and its sprayer bottle, but yet to do it since it’s been raining most of the time.

    Before and after

Well, looks like prison to me. But what more can be done, safety first!

Anyways, did I mention that for RM163000, the house is equipped with alarm system and remote controlled gate system? That. is another story.

    Till we meet again.

  • EPISODE 1 – NEW HOME

    It’s been awhile.

Anyways, as I said in one of my post before this that I have bought my own house. Well, actually it’s our own house, together with my wife. Why did I buy a house in Terengganu even though there is no plan living forever here? Because I just don’t like the idea of spending RM600 a month for the Rantau house. That’s all. It’s not a waste pon beli rumah, as the price will go up instead of go down like buying cars.
So here are some shots of our house. No quality on the pictures but the house is definitely excellent, considering the price tag of RM163000 for our end lot semi detached house.
These pictures were taken before anything has been done. The lalang and pokok pelik2 were everywhere as you can see. But don’t worry, I will update this in the next episode of ‘NEW HOME’.
